Vandy's Bar-B-Q Restaurant Statesboro
Vandy Boyd opened the first Vandy's Barbeque in 1929, that was located on Mullet Road in nearby Portal, Georgia. He later moved his growing business to Simmons Shopping Center in Statesboro and, with such a loyal following, moved on the original and now familiar location at 11 West Vine Street in 1943.
 As progress continued, Vandy opened a second location at the inception of the Statesboro Mall in 1970. Later, Vandy's son, Carl Boyd, continued the great barbeque tradition his father had started. Allen Tyson bought Vandy's Barbeque in 1984 and continued this Statesboro tradition. In 2006, Tony and Cathy Sammons, along with Sister Ashley Hines Ellis, purchased the business and continued serving the Best Barbeque in Southeast Georgia.

Great food, bbq sauce is a very unique mustard-based sauce. They also have awesome friend pickles and sweet tea! The best location for dinner or lunch is downtown right where the meat is smoked, but the location in the Statesboro Mall is great for breakfast! -Best BBQ - Hands Down!
Vandy's has great barbecue, but they also have excellent southern cooking. I love that you can buy a whole fried chicken and it is delicious. We don't eat out alot, and we are very particular about what restaurants we do eat at. I have had some of the best fried pork chops and stewed squash at Vandy's. I had so much food, and so did my children, that we had to get a carryout box. If you are looking for great food and wonderful barbecue, look no further than Vandy's. -Great Deal! Big Portions!
